Can You Dig It?

May 28, 2009

Tourism Terrie here again. Being a mother of 4 and a grandmother of 10, parks are a special place for me. I have spent a lot of my adult life visiting them. This week I was privileged to assist in a project at the Park of the Canals located on Horne and Brown. A group known as KABOOM brought together a group of volunteers from Home Depot and around the city of Mesa to work on revamping the park May 26, 27, and 28. Along with me were 2 of my co- workers Natalie and James reporting for duty at 7:30 AM on May 26th. We spent the day in the heat sweating and working along side other volunteers to jazz up this little park in Mesa. New playground equipment was installed, it was the largest playground equipment Kaboom has ever installed according to one Kaboom team member. There was painting, bricking, planting, hauling, moving, stacking and did I say sweating? It was awesome and I am so glad I had the opportunity to assist in this project. The Park is complete and ready to be played in so mom’s and dad’s, grandma’s and grandpa’s, pack up the babies and grab the old ladies and everyone’ goes….to the Mesa Park Of The Canals.
